Our founders come from the Oil & Gas industry, where composite materials are trusted every single day in some of the most extreme environments on earth. High pressure. Extreme heat. When our founders set out to build Boss Barrels, they quickly realized that no existing composite manufacturing equipment on the market met the standards they demanded for precision composite barrel production. So they built their own.
Every piece of composite manufacturing equipment used to produce a Boss Barrel was developed and built in-house in Lufkin, Texas — giving us complete control over every stage of the manufacturing process from raw material selection to finished barrel inspection. No outsourcing. No third-party manufacturing. No cutting corners at any step of the process.
Every Boss Barrel begins life as a fully stress relieved, air gauged 416R stainless steel blank — the gold standard material for precision rifle barrel manufacturing. Each blank is precision turned on industry leading CNC equipment, button rifled to exact specifications, and chamber cut to precise headspace tolerances before our proprietary multi-step carbon fiber composite wrapping process is applied using thermally conductive material blends developed entirely in-house.
The result is a precision rifle barrel that delivers all the performance benefits of a bull barrel contour at a fraction of the weight — with superior heat dissipation, consistent sub-MOA accuracy, and long-term durability built in from the very first step of the manufacturing process.
